Dance themed animations

9/22/2021

I've been doing a new series of little short animations! This series is done in Photoshop....frame by frame with a dance theme (typically Lindy Hop, Swing, Charleston etc).
Go check out my instagram page @jendee_dance to see them all.  Say hi in the comments!

Design for Mark's new album, The Blue Bird!

1/4/2019

Much thought and effort was lovingly put into the design for Mark's new album on French/US label Season of Mist.  I think this is probably our favorite cover that I have done for him. Each tiny little element in the design was discussed, explored and charged with meaning.... thus, we think of the design as a talisman of sorts and reflects his music fittingly.  Hope you enjoy.
(I will post the inside and back coming up)

Premiering tonight... Adult Swim show "Dream Corp LLC"!

10/23/2016

After a long summer of animating on a trippy, surreal, Adult Swim show, it finally premieres! The show is called "Dream Corp LLC" and is directed by Daniel Stessen and produced by Stephen Merchant and John Krasinski (from the British and US "The Office".)

I joined Artbelly Productions to do the rotoscoping/animating duties here in Austin.  It was an intense project with just three of us doing the rotoscoping, but the end result is beautiful (and sometimes frightening!)

The show is half live action and half animation and follows a cast of wacky misfits that work at a dream analyzation lab.  Patients visit the under-funded and seemingly forgotten lab in a bankrupt strip mall and meet Dr. Roberts (played by Jon Gries.... who was Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite!).  Dr. Roberts and his crew solve the patients' hang-ups and mental disturbances by entering the patients' dreams through a sketchy device placed on the head. Each week a new patient enters the lab.... some leave and some don't.

Animation for UK's Channel 4

Recent rotoscoping job for Make Productions in London.  They were putting together an ad campaign for Channel 4's new show "the Superhumans Show".  My part in the project was to rotoscope/animate the host, Alex Brooker.  You can see his face in the trading card in the spot below. Really fun, fast project and it was great to work with Make Productions.

Paper Unicorns

2/29/2016

I was dogsitting for my friend Lillian and saw this papercut on her mantle that I had forgotten about.  I made this for her birthday a few years ago.  I should do some more papercuts...

ANIMATION FOR WIRED MAGAZINE

6/22/2013

Over at Flat Black Films, we have been working on a new animated web series imagining the day-to day interactions of the cubicle dwelling workers of the NSA for Wired.com called "Codefellas".
The series is brought to you by David Rees (from cult comic "Get Your War On") and partner Brian Spinks.  We did the rotoscoping and lipsyncing at Flat Black.  The voices are by John Hodgman and Emily Heller.

"GET WITH THE PROGRAM" on BBC!

3/28/2013

The BBC is scheduled to show part (or all?) of an edit I did of "Get with the Program" on the BBC News technology show, "Click" in the next few days. They are showing their favorite animated entries from a competition held by the BBC that asked artists to portray their vision of the future.
Here is a link to a short promo video for the upcoming episode.  (Obviously many of us artists have a bleak outlook on the future! haha)
